It’s spring, and time for some music full of colors! Join us for Beethoven’s dramatic Coriolan Overture… Berlioz’ exciting Hungarian March from The Damnation of Faust… Saint-Saens’ spirited Bacchanal from Samson et Dalila … and Bizet’s thrilling Carmen Suite no. 1, as selected Irving high school musicians perform with us.
But the music that will really dazzle is the lovely Violin Concerto no. 1 by Bela Bartok, the Hungarian composer, as performed by our Romanian-born concertmaster, Dr. Adrian Demian, soloist. The concerto reveals Bartok’s love for the violin and the young woman violinist to whom it’s dedicated.
