2024 Irving Youth Concerto Competition

The Richard Giangiulio Youth Concerto Competition

The NPOI and Irving Independent School District announce their 2024 Annual Richard Giangulio Concerto Competition. The winner will receive the opportunity to play as a soloist with the NPOI and a $500 scholarship. A concerto must be chosen from the Recommended Repertoire List or have his/her choice approved by the NPOI Conductor/Music Director prior to the audition. Auditions will be scheduled after school hours.


Audition Information:

  • Audition Date — Tuesday, March 26, 2024
  • Audition Location — MacArthur High School


For winner:

  • Rehearsal Date: Tuesday, April 30 (potential) — 7:30 p.m.
  • Rehearsal Date: Tuesday, May 7 — 7:00 p.m.
  • Rehearsal Date: Saturday, May 11 — 1:30 p.m.
  • Performance Date: Sunday, May 12, 2024 — 3:30 p.m.

Eligibility

Contestants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Reside in Irving, TX
  • Attend an Irving school


Fees and Applications

  • Entry fee — $20
  • Application Deadline — Friday, March 1, 2024
